Stress Stress Stress
Hello everyone!! Another great week! Im from Arizona and the heat is finally starting to kick in! Which I love!
Oh doesnt everybody love stress? Because maybe Im the crazy one and absolutely hate it. Stress to me is the worst thing ever! But we all have to realize that stress is something that does not just magically go away. I mean we can control the amount of stress. But one day stress is not going to get up and walk away. So we have to learn how to deal with it. We can definitely control the amount of stress. This is no easy task by all means.
I want to talk about the different types of stress. But mainly focus on the stress that occurs within the family. This for me, is something that I was able to recognize at a young age. So there was no surprise that stress does in fact occur within the family; broken or not. My parents got divorced when I was in 5th grade. The word divorce is just a stressful word. For me thinking about it creates stress. I do not want to put my kids through what I went through. A lot of peoples worst fear is to get divorced. When people say that to me all I think about it my mom. All the stress that she went through when she, herself was going through a divorce.
But what my mom did was different, she clung onto things that relieved her stress. She had her two daughters, and her family and friends. A lot of people, including myself, when they go through hard things they just push away and deal with everything themselves. At the time I did not realize that the stress of the divorce was leaking onto me. I know my mom tried her hardest so this wouldn't happen, but it was something that was inescapable. The first couple months of my parents being divorced, I became mean, and was hating the world. that sadly still happens to me. When life and things get stressful I get mean and turn and shutdown everyone. I do not want help nor want to listen to anything anyone has to say. I did not realize the affect stress has on the body. One thing that I am grateful for is that I do have this recognition. It is important to always be working on yourself and also working on relationships that mean the most to you. There have been stressful times in my life where I did not know where I stood in peoples life. I do not like the feeling that it produces. We have to be conscious of our stress and how it starts to play a role on your relationships but also your mental health. I think that your mental health is super important when you are going through a stressful time. I know that stress just eats you up. I have lived it. I want all the remedies to getting rid of stressful times.
I know that when I start developing my own family, stress is bound to occur. So I need to get a grasp on the effect that come with stress. My husband and I will need to come up with ways we relief stress, so that we dont have big problems.
I loved this lesson is class this week. It was a wake up call and it made me ponder back on my past life. I got to think about how I reacted to stress, and pondered on new ways now to avoid becoming like that when things get hard.
